Pastor's welcome

Grace and Peace to you from God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

My name is Barbara Groote. I am a graduate of the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon, and since September 2011 I am an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC). I have been called to serve Ascension Lutheran Church in Edmonton.

I am passionate about God's grace for all creation - embodied in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God’s grace – the undeserved forgiveness of all our sins. God’s grace – the unbelievable gift that we all seem to forget so easily. God’s grace – that is so hard for us to believe, and that is yet so sweet when we get a glimpse of it... when it sinks in. Every day anew!
